looks sorta like a gtk2 slicker. But I can't get the 6nome-metacity theme to work. It shows up in the gnome-theme-manager, and gconf-editor>apps>metacity>general but doesn't change. Is there some place to look for metacity errors or gnome theme errors? I've emailed the creator but haven't heard back yet. Anyone?
I have;
ML9.1 with it's default pkgs>
metacity-2.4.34-3mdk
gnome2-2.2.0-1mdk
gtk+2.0-2.2.1-2mdk
gtk-engines2-2.2.0-2mdk
Thanks! |

Hm, the author used commas instead of dots..
When having problems with Metacity themes, you can use the metacity-theme-viewer program to validate them (it will show you errors when the file/format is invalid).
I've uploaded the modified theme file, which you can download here.
(use 'gunzip metacity-theme-1.xml.gz' to uncompress the file) _________________ Member of the Quite-So-Very-Much-Often-Offline-Mod-Squad (tm) |

Asolutely fantastic! Thank you very much!
Same thing with the authors Aero metacity, except it only had 1 comma, as opposed to about the 15 6nome had.
Thanks for the reminder on the metacity-theme-viewer. I had forgotten about that. Haven't used gnome for a long time because of the gtk1.2 and 2 split but now that there are a lot more apps for gtk2 I'm glad to be back in it and happy to see it getting better (more gnome2 only with "gnome themes").
BTW, I couldn't uncompress with gunzip, tar, file-roller, or ark so I used opera to save_as>renamed it, and file shows it to be an xml doc and it works.
Question: so if I try to open a metacity theme with the metacity-theme-viewer and there's something wrong with it, does it print the details to the terminal? How does it tell you what's wrong with it?
Thanks! |

Just try running it from a terminal and you'll see, it even prints out the line and character number of where you can find the faulty stuff

| The author emailed me, thanking us, and said he would correct it and upload an updated pkg. |
