|
|
Hi,
I am running SLED w/GNOME. Just yesterday it started to freeze on logout. The screen goes black, sometimes the cursor stays and freezes also. At that point, I have to press the power button on my laptop and restart.
Where would I start troubleshooting this? I should also add that shutting down is no problem. I guess that eliminates any hanging apps that could cause this.
Thanks. |

| Is Xorg that hangs? Are you using a proprietary closed driver? Something strange in your Xorg logs or your ~/.xsession-errors? |

Not sure if it's xorg, and i'm not using a proprietary driver that I know of - maybe you can tell from the xsession errors below:

| Those errors aren't fatal or at least should not hang X (the freezed cursor), try for example the VESA driver, it's unaccelerated so it's painfully slow, but it's only to exclude problems with your current driver. |
