I develop GTK apps and I have a problem with gtk_file_chooser. If multiple file selections are enabled, the damn file chooser automatically selects the first file in each folder that is navigated to, forcing the user to de-select the file (if he watches out and is aware of the problem). I looked at other GTK apps to see how they behave. It varies, e.g. Nautilus does not have this annoying feature. Brasero does. So my question: how do I stop this stupid behavior?

Another annoying feature of Gnome: when a desktop launcher is used, it gets selected and remains selected forever until unselected. I cannot count how many times I have deleted or moved one of these because I did not notice that it was selected. The bug has been there for years.
