I want to make a new mouse cursor theme for GNOME2 desktop.
How can I do that?

There's a decent HOWTO included with this theme over at kde-look.org... you might also want to take a look at the manpage for "xcursorgen", it's a program that creates a cursor theme out of PNG files... although I don't think you'll find any information there that isn't already included with that theme I link to.

Edit: Just to avoid any confusion, xcursorgen is included with XFree86 4.3, so you should already have it installed.
